Located at a beautiful eco home that is off-grid and west of Sedona on the way to Palatki Ruins, this home is complete with walking trails, national forest land adjacent to the property, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, an area for camping, and an area for outdoor meditation.
Vipassana New World had the privilege of meditating here 6 months ago for our 5-day retreat in January, and the energy began building into such a supportive inward journey. It felt like we were being held in the womb with love. We look forward to sharing this location with you in 9 days.
It is the Summertime, a time for empowerment. Spring is over, and now we root our projects to begin receiving the fruits of our labor. This July 19 thru the 30th, we will occupy a lovely off-grid, straw-bale home in the middle of the Sedona desert for 10 days of profound meditation for the sake of our Empowerment, mental clarity, and rooting our pure-hearted desires firmly into our lives and into our future.
Are you feeling the urge to go inward and investigate, explore, feel, and re-inspire yourself into life itself? Our lives are progressive successions of insight after insight; healing after healing; blessing after blessing. Vipassana New World is honored to share this experience with you; 10-days in fully-guided mental immersion for the purpose of mental and emotional peace. Let's Release the Stress and learn how to keep it at bay.
We are encouraged to live in this present moment, to be happy, to relax, and to enjoy my life… yet how? Vipassana is a powerful tool that works for those searching for *something* they can practice for peace, clarity, healing, and release of stress.
We invite you to join our intimate meditation gathering, where 10 students and an instructor will take part in this inspiring and challenging event. 11 of us will enter as stressed fragments, and 11 of us will graduate as One resonance.
The attached pictures are from the home and view we will be experiencing Vipassana in.

Eckhart Tolle has been sharing the benefits of The Power of Now for decades. In the interview below, he reveals how to break the habit of excessive thinking (http://youtu.be/dTFDfR47dl4), yet his explanation is still challenging, as a technique that is long-lasting to heal the old habitual patterns of over-thinking is a constant challenge. Vipassana is the tool to retrain us again and again until our life is one of present moment health and happiness with less thought and more feeling.
10-day Retreat: Friday July 19 thru Tuesday July 30th, 2013
(See Below if you can only attend for weekend portion of retreat, July 19 thru July 21).
Hosted by Vipassana New World (www.VipassanaNewWold.org), this 10-day retreat will be held on a simple property surrounded by Sedona's glorious and powerful Red Rock energy. This retreat will be the fifth 10-day retreat offered by Vipassana New World, with each retreat being intimate and catered to your life-goals and challenges.
What to Expect:
- This is a purification retreat using meditation as the tool for emotional release.
- Daily Schedule follows ‘India Tradition’ and provides with fully-guided instruction during each meditation. Students are peacefully guided where to be and what to do at all times. There is little time for leisure.
- Men and women are segregated as space allows and in sleeping arrangements.
- Rretreat centers and properties we utilize are smaller than worldwide meditation centers, so retreats are more intimate ("We're all in this Together").
- Noble silence is observed for 10 days in order to maximize our inward journey. Speaking to instructor or volunteers about the technique is allowed.
- Refrain from practicing other forms of spirituality, mantra, or energy work while attending this course in order to fully grasp the effects of Vipassana.
- There is no writing or reading during this course in order to maximize our inward awareness.
- Two vegetarian meals (with plenty of protein) and an evening snack conducive for deep meditation are provided with no snacking in between meals. An hour-long break is offered following each meal.
- One’s “Mental Body” is almost exclusively trained, so one aims to receive lasting calmness for their minds.
- Breaks of 10 to 15min are offered between each meditation sitting for water breaks, walking, sitting, or stretching.
- Most meditations last 1 hour. Students sit on meditation pillows and chairs are available for new students.
- Major emotional releases often take place on Day 2 to 3 and Day 6 to 7 for students. Following these releases one may experience a deeper sense of peace. Examples of “releases” are agitation, anxiety, pain, depression, sadness, tension, judgment, and over-thinking, as our consciousness (our Light) replaces these old patterns.
- Throughout our 10-day retreat, safety is of primary concern. There will be one instructor onsite at all times along with a volunteer or cook or property caretaker caring for the needs of our students.
- Additionally, we practice self-responsibility; we are each mindful of our actions and vocal in any necessary requests.
In a student's words:
..."You did an amazing job! I felt very safe and comfortable with you as my guide during the retreat. I feel that you were attentive, supportive, and willing to help during any challenges. The food was exquisite."
-K.A., Dec 2011 retreat student
Vipassana strengthens our mental capacity and discipline, so fear, worry, anxiety, codependency, attachment, craving/ addiction, and reaction greatly reduces.
It's common for a person to choose a 10-day course when they are at a positive crossroads in their lives.
Common reasons include:
*Desiring silence and peace for a prolonged period of time,
*Desiring great emotional or mental healing related to a specific issue,
*Choosing to excel spiritually and renounce their life for 1/3 of a month,
*To release a great deal of emotional trauma in order to feel Lighter and more Loving,
*To heal codependency within a relationship,
*Engaging in a mentally challenging activity to strengthen mind, confidence, integrity, and character,
*To receive clarity for an issue or activity.
Vipassana is mentally challenging, yet it succeeds and remains popular due to its effectiveness in bringing peace, overall healing, centeredness (groundedness), and knowingness to one's life.
Vipassana naturally can:
*Balances one's mind,
*Heals one's emotional body, allowing for peaceful, win-win interactions,
*Releases stress while reducing high blood pressure,
*Strengthens one's ability to observe more and react less,
*Helps us live from our hearts by Feeling more.
Life is about Feeling more and Thinking less. Vipassana is a tool that helps us become in touch with 'feeling' at all times, so we remain in this present moment, experiencing exactly 'what is'. From this state, we can then choose to Respond rather than react at what is happening in our lives or all around us.
In a student's words:
..."Your retreat was one of the few classes, out of all the classes I've been dragged to go through in the (last) 13 years (that) has truly made an impact on me..."

Weekend Retreats will therefore focus on Anapana; a major foundation in Vipassana.
