We are pleased to share with you an amazing retreat center for our upcoming 10-day Silent Vipassana Meditation Retreat. It’s called ‘Sacred Rocks Ranch’, and it’s one of the highest energy sites we have had the pleasure of offering a 10-day retreat at.
What: 10-day silent meditation retreat for healing & spiritual learning
Where: Sedona, AZ, ‘Sacred Rocks Ranch’
When: May 10 thru 21, 2013
We will feel blessed to meditate at Sacred Rocks Ranch. The owners have made a generous offer to allow for their sacred land to be utilized by us at a very reduced rate which allows for a maximum of students to participate in the spiritual development from across our country.
Sacred Rocks Ranch is a serene 2acre property surrounded by national forest, so all you hear is the sounds of the wind, the forest, the birds, and the trees rustling. It’s an incredible get-away from the city hustle n bustle. Sacred Rocks Ranch comes complete with a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment plus casita where students will be appropriately divided into their humble sleep/ rest accommodations to harmoniously live silence for the duration of their retreat.
Our silent retreat at Sacred Rocks Ranch was previously owned and operated by the great Buddhist teacher, Maticintin Humuh, who utilized this land as a sacred learning center for her female students, so already there exists a grounding presence here.
Sacred Rocks Ranch comes complete with a full-scale kitchen and 3 buildings providing:
- 2 organic meals daily and 1 evening snack to support your healing meditations,
- a quiet meditation area conducive to insightful meditations,
- fully-guided meditations by our Instructor, Jan Tijmes, and
- walking paths that meander across Sacred Rocks Ranch
- including miles of open national forest land adjacent to the property, just ready for your to explore.
Vipassana operates on the basis of Dāna, a Sanskrit idea encompassing charity, donation and giving. We give first to receive later. As such, no payment is necessary. However, in order for Vipassana New World to continue operating, you should be aware of the costs of attendance for one individual person for 11 total days:
Cost of Food & Lodgings per 1 Student ~USD $450
Cost of Hiring 1 Teacher for 1 Course per Student ~USD$100
We welcome donations that exceed these costs; as they will allow us to expand our centers and bring the Light of these wonderful teachings to others. If you are unable to give back financially, you are welcome to serve by cooking or caretaking for a course, or by donating in another way that is appropriate to your particular situation. As such, scholarships are available and no student may be turned away on account of finances.
A camping option is open to 2 participants, who, if approved due to lack of funds, may camp out at Sacred Rocks Retreat for a reduced scholarship donation. Bathrooms located nearby tent area. Please contact 818.632.1179 to discuss approval.

- *Releases over-thinking,
- *Increases Awareness,
- *Balances one's mind,
- *Heals one's emotional body, allowing for peaceful, win-win interactions,
- *Reduces craving,
- *Releases stress while reducing high blood pressure,
- *Strengthens one's ability to observe more and react less,
- *Helps us live from our hearts by Feeling more.
Life is about Feeling more and Thinking less. Vipassana is a tool that helps us become in touch with 'feeling' at all times, so we remain in this present moment, experiencing exactly 'what is'. From this state, we can then choose to Respond rather than react at what is happening in our lives or all around us.
In a student's words:
..."Your retreat was one of the few classes, out of all the classes I've been dragged to go through in the (last) 13 years (that) has truly made an impact on me..."
-Dec 2010 retreat student
Vipassana 10-day retreats are experiences and healings that last a lifetime.
